Interludes (3)

9-interludes-2

Therpsichore

I know your attributes, though I don´t sing
And none of your sisters would honor me for this
But you are the First and I shall prove you

When the newly born comes to the world
Tired of sleeping long time in the gloom
Before expelling his first life loud yell
Lifts the head, or spreads the arms, stretches the legs,
Trembles the belly and then shouts.

The singer before singing has to open the mouth!

High low left right up down
Short long fast slow front back
Above below on off over under
Head feet toe finger elbow knee

Will you bless me?

Sing to us Muse, and move our bodies like flying birds,
The thousand stories dance can tell by movement
Saying words never, always meaning health and life.

With the grace and precision of the hand of the poet
When despite its form, or strength or age,
Lit by inspiration, writes

Teach us how to keep alive in the shade
Without a word and with wings to perform
Make the body of the dancer a sword

And keep on singing so we never forget
That the body comes before the soul
All writings need a hand to trace
All prayers need knees to bend

One cannot totally rely in words of men or States or Gods
Remind us the multiple forms the body has to advance,
Remember us, specially, the multiple forms it has
